virtually

virtually
•• virtual, virtually

•• Virtual being such in force or effect, though not openly so (The Random House Dictionary).
Oxford American Dictionary: being so in effect though not in name or according to strict definition President Clinton announced Friday a ten-year extension of the current moratorium on oil drilling off virtually all American ocean coastlines (New York Times). Some get paid virtually nothing – once the cost of housing and food has been deducted (New York Times).
